The Turkish competition Super Lig has traditionally been dominated by three top clubs from one city, Istanbul. Besides Besiktas and Galatasaray, Fenerbahce completes the triumvirate. Fenerbahce S.K. Is a sportsclub that includes football, basketball and swimming amongst other sports. It was founded in 1907. The football club of Fenerbahce S.K. Play their home matches in the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium which has a capacity of 50,000 seats. They are shared record holder of total wins of the Super Lig (along with Galatasaray). Fenerbahce won the Super Lig eightteen times. The club colours are blue and yellow, which are also the colours of the kit's colours. The manager of Fenerbahce is Aykut Kocaman, who himself was a player of Fenerbahce from 1988 until 1996. Chairman of the whole club (not only the professional live football department) is Aziz Yildirim, an engineer.
Alon with the 17 Super Lig wins, the last one being in 2007, Fenerbahce have also won the Turkish Cup multiple times (five times, the last one in 2012). On an international level, Fenerbahce have not performed as well as Galatasaray, their only notable record being the quarter-finals of the Champions League in the 2007 – 2008 season. Notable players from the past are Jay-Jay Okocha, Zico and brazilian international Roberto Carlos who played for Fenerbahce from 2007 till 2009. The current squad of Fenerbahce has some international stars, like Miroslav Stoch, Dutch international Dirk Kuyt and Raul Meireles.
Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have a huge rivalry with each other. As the two most successful clubs from Turkey and both being from the same city, the rivalry is extended to fans attacking each other and riots in the streets of Istanbul.
