Arsenal Football Club is a football club from London who play in the Premier League, the highest division of England. Arsenal is one of many professional clubs from London (others are West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspurs, Chelseau, Fulham, Charlton Athletic and Queens Park Rangers), but has been one of the most successful clubs from the capital. Arsenal was founded as Dial Square in 1886 and plays in the Emirates Stadium which holds a capacity of 60,000 seats. Before moving to the Emirates stadium in 2006, Arsenal had played in Arsenal Stadium Highbury for 93 years. Arsenal is owned by Arsenal Holdings plc, which does not operate on the regular stock market. Arsenal play their home matches in red shirts and white shorte, whilst their away colours are black and purple. Like Manchester United, Arsenal have a trainer that has been working for the gunners for more than a decade.

Arsene Wenger has been the manager of Arsenal since 1996. He has been very successful, as under his management Arsenal finished either first or second in eight of the first eleven seasons under his management. Arsenal became champion of the Premier League three times in recent years, 1998, 2002 and 2004. Yet internationally Arsenal hasn't had much success and only reached the Champions League final in 2006, which they lost to Barcelona. Since 2005 Arsenal hasnt won a major prize in the English football system. The last one being the 2005 FA Cup.

Notable players that are currently playing for Arsenal or have played for Arsenal in the past are Lukas Podolski, Cesc Fabregas, Thierry Henry, Robin van Persie and Dennis Bergkamp. Arsenal have won the Premier League (and former First Division) thirteen times, the last one being in the season 2003-2004. The FA Cup was won by Arsenal ten times and the League Cup was won only twice. Their only major European prize was the UEFA Cup II, or Cup winners' Cup in 1994. In London, Arsenal have a long ongoing rivalry with their North London neighbours Tottenham Hotspurs. The Derby Arsenal Tottenham Hotspurs is called the North London derby. Arsenal is leading in the overall win record with 73 wins in 173 matches, against Spurs' 53 wins. The next meeting in the Premier League is on 2 March 2013.
